SUTRA STUDIO was founded on sweat, love, and deep faith, rooted in the belief that the world needs an authentically connected haven for a community to evolve together. They creatively disrupt the typical yoga experience by using art, music, and accessible philosophy to inspire compassion, transformation, and the courage to walk an elevated path.

Jennifer Howell, a 500-HR E-RYT YACEP and Fluid Yoga School Trainer, teaches with "Breath, hugs, and rock and roll," combining intelligent sequencing, humor, and curated music. Her approach is informed by her background in live-entertainment design and love of shared experiences. She founded SUTRA STUDIO in Lowell, MA (2014) and expanded to Maynard, MA (2024), aiming to cultivate an inclusive, open environment for transformative growth and personal fulfillment. When not leading Fluid Yoga teacher training or retreats, she DJ’s and performs stand-up comedy, seeking laughter and new connections, drawing continuous inspiration from others on the creative path.
Why did you apply for Project Pop-Up?
Our application for Project Pop-Up is driven by a desire to deepen our connection with the Lowell community, particularly in the historic downtown area, and to expand our brand's reach. After 11 years in more secluded parts of downtown, this new, exciting location offers us a crucial opportunity: the visibility to make the transformative power of yoga and meditation more accessible to a diverse group of neighbors, effectively breaking down physical and perceived barriers.
As "creative disruptors" of the traditional yoga experience, the pop-up format encourages us to innovate our offerings. We plan to use this space to test new concepts, drawing inspiration from the Lowell Community, and amplify the influence of art, music, and accessible philosophy within a fresh context.
